Complexity Busting Toolkit

As a designer at a UX studio specializing in complex enterprise systems, we were used to rapidly understanding and designing solutions for complex, layered systems.

We found ourselves using a series of mental tools to navigate these systems, but at the time, they weren’t codified anywhere to pass along tangibly to new hires.

So I created a brochure of these ideas, coined the Complexity Busting Toolkit, so that we had a common language to onboard new hires and communicate more effectively internally. There were two sections for a total of 18 pages:

  1. Ways of Thinking
  2. Communicating Complexity

This is one of my proudest works at a company, and the ideas here still influence my thinking to this day.
