Captain Banks: The First Nanocosmonaut
With so much excitement brewing around the macro scale of the universe, I wondered, “How might we build that same excitement around the molecular and cellular world?”
Enter Captain Banks, Nanocosmonaut. With Twitter as the channel here, this experiment would seek to engage real scientists’s Twitter accounts in fun dialogue as Captain Banks explored the Nanocosmos.
As humanity stretches its tentacles further out into the galaxy, the smaller worlds among us — the microcosmos and nanocosmos — have yet to embrace the Spirit of Exploration.
So join Captain Banks as he embarks on a series of expeditions to explore these worlds, and reports live with ASTOUNDING, REAL scanning electron microscopic images, simulations, and lithographs of the cellular and molecular world.
Along the way, he’ll be engaging REAL scientists around the world for support, as he struggles his way into this new territory. His trusty investigator Nelson will help ensure the operations go off (hopefully) without a hitch.
Who knows what adventure awaits in the atomic worlds of motors, power generators, robots, transporters, viruses, cells, materials, minerals, magic, and more… As they used to say, Hic sunt dracones…
