My goal here is to help printmakers and designers find affordable solutions that meet their needs. Here are some other presses and tools provided by other makers from around the world that are very affordable.
Javier Lopez’s 19″ DIY Press Plans
I owe it to Javier for inspiring me to make the Brockway press after coming across his DIY press plans on Instructables. Incredibly, he designed and built his in just a few days.
Nick Phan’s 3D Printed Printmaking Supplies
Nick is another midwestern printmaker and teacher providing excellent 3D-printed tools including presses, but also brayers and more.
Open Press Project
These Berlin-based fellas were some of the first (that I know of) to make a 3D press and really hit it out of the park. Their presses, built for intaglio etchings, can be download or ordered as kits.
Provisional Press
Wooden, laser-cut DIY press kits, with an emphasis on providing solutions for teachers. I couldn’t be happier that they’re also fellow hoosiers!
